"The United Nations remains committed to facilitating Russian and Ukrainian grain and fertilizer exports, despite the expiration of the Black Sea grain agreement," UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric declared.
Dujarric said, during a press briefing: "Our commitment to the objectives of the Black Sea Initiative and the Memorandum of Understanding (with Russia) continues unabated, with or without the 90 days."
He continued, "Until last Monday, the United Nations was strictly abiding by its obligations under the Memorandum of Understanding with Russia," adding: "No one can ask the Secretary-General to provide security guarantees."
The official spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced today, Wednesday, that the United Nations has three more months to implement the memorandum of understanding with Russia regarding the export of Russian grain and fertilizers.
