UNA and Ruptly organize a workshop on the principles of media content verification

    The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) will hold, next Tuesday, a virtual workshop entitled "Applying the Principles of Verification of Media Content in News Coverage", in cooperation with the leading international agency in the field of videos and journalistic investigation "Ruptly".

    The workshop aims to identify the necessary skills and the latest technologies used in the verification of media content, especially those related to videos and images.

    The Acting Director General of the Federation of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Muhammad bin Abd Rabbuh al-Yami, confirmed in a statement followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the workshop comes within the framework of the Federation's efforts to strengthen the role of news agencies in confronting misinformation and false news.".

    He explained that "the workshop will allow employees of news agencies and media in Islamic countries to learn about the latest technologies in detecting counterfeiting methods that are constantly evolving, and to identify the applications used in this aspect.".

    Ruptly Agency CEO Dinara Toktosunova said, according to the statement, "We are very grateful and happy to cooperate with the Federation of OIC News Agencies to implement this verification workshop."
