Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani received on Sunday, a message from the Secretary General of OPEC.
A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "OPEC Secretary-General Haitham Al-Ghais extended his thanks and appreciation to the government, the ministry, and the preparation and implementation team for the good organization of the celebration through a message received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani, in which he stated:
"On behalf of myself and on behalf of my colleagues in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), I would like to extend my sincere congratulations for the great and important success of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the organization, which was hosted by the historic People's Hall in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad - OPEC."
Al-Ghais added, "I would also like to extend my deepest thanks and appreciation for the support and interest you have provided for this important event over the years and decades, such as hosting the founding meeting of the organization - known as the Baghdad Conference in September of 1960 ."
The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries "OPEC", in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil, celebrated last week in Baghdad with the remarkable presence of the ministers of oil and energy in the countries of the organization, and under the auspices and presence of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, where the committee supervising the celebration prepared a rich program that won the approval and admiration of the participating delegations, which included activities Cultural and artistic, heritage and folkloric performances, documentaries, Baghdad International Cartoon Exhibition, oil and energy books exhibition, and others."
