The Iraqi Airways Company affiliated with the Ministry of Transport clarified the details of Boeing's contract for the purchase of 26 aircraft, and while it indicated work to open new routes with four countries, it confirmed the existence of a trend to further reduce ticket prices.
The company's general manager, Manaf Abdel Moneim, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "one of the development projects for Iraqi Airways is the government's contract with Boeing to purchase 26 modern aircraft, 10 of which are classified as dream planes."
He added, "The successive arrival of these aircraft over the next five years will open new lines and directions to cover the world," noting that "among the current projects is work to open the Muscat-Jakarta line in Indonesia, Malaysia and China."
Regarding the possibility of reducing travel tickets, Abdel Moneim said, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani directed direct support to the Iraqi citizen, especially the retirees, the sick, and the wounded of the popular crowd," pointing out, "The prime minister's interest in the citizen is direct, as he announced that the current government is a service government." .
