Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced on Monday, the signing of a memorandum of understanding to exempt the granting of visas for diplomatic passports between Iraq and Pakistan.
Hussein said, during a press conference held with his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and was attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "relations with Pakistan are strong and we discussed cooperation in the military field."
He stressed, "The continuity of security cooperation with Pakistan, and the start of political consultations with them," pointing to "the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Pakistan on exempting entry visas for diplomatic passports, as well as the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Minister of Culture and the Pakistani Foreign Minister on cultural cooperation."
He pointed to "seeking to sign a memorandum of understanding in the near future regarding Pakistani visitors to the holy places in Iraq."
He added, "We look forward to strong future relations with Pakistan," pointing to "the formation of a committee to solve the problem of Pakistani debt to Iraq."
For his part, the Pakistani Foreign Minister said, "His visit to Baghdad aims to strengthen relations," noting that "Iraq and Pakistan have contributed to supporting peace in the region."
He continued, "We look forward to opening a center for visitors in the holy city of Karbala," noting that "Iraq is a true friend of Pakistan."
