A pre-emptive operation launched south of Najaf: PMF

Popular Mobilization Forces PMF announced Wednesday the launch of a preemptive operation south of Najaf.

A statement by PMF, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "a force from the Second Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces, in coordination with the Najaf Police Command, carried out a preemptive security operation within the southern borders of the city of Najaf."

The statement explained, "The operation began by searching and raiding the areas adjacent to the borders of the provinces of Diwaniyah and Muthanna, in addition to the security trench and the adjacent operations sectors," noting that "the operation aims to enhance the security and stability of the province."
