The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, called Thursday to overcome all differences, while indicating that the fate of Iraq and the Kurdistan region is linked and inseparable.

The President of the Republic said, in his speech, during the inauguration of the Barzani Monument , which was attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “I thank all those who established this edifice to commemorate the memory of leader Mustafa Barzani, as the history of our people is full of many glories, and throughout the years of our national struggle, many great  people were there, whom we still remember, and thanks to them, our national approach to achieving our legitimate rights continued.

He added, "The events and data in the region in general, and the conditions of our country are exposed to many challenges," noting that "for years this region has been suffering from wars and political instability, and the destruction of that system resulted in undesirable conditions."

He explained, "Today there are other circumstances, which we are trying to exploit for more rapprochement and for resorting to peaceful dialogue to rebuild the country."

He stressed, "The time has come for all components to sit down, to put all differences aside, to build a healthy environment, to build the country's infrastructure again, and to participate with all our components to build Iraq, by creating political stability for the current and future generations."

He pointed out, "There are a lot of problems between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region, as well as a lot of cooperation between the two governments, to end all differences, and create a political program that will be a guarantor of the rights of all the people of Kurdistan."

He stressed, "The fate of Iraq and Kurdistan is linked and inseparable from each other, and that all previous stages tell us that Iraq will not be stable unless Kurdistan is stable."

He concluded by saying: "The Kurdistan government needs the federal government, so it is very necessary for there to be an atmosphere of consensus and dialogue, to serve all parties and face all challenges."
