Iraqi government is keen to strengthen economic relations with Syria, says MOT

Minister of Trade, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairy, affirmed the Iraqi government's keenness to strengthen economic and trade relations with Syria.

"Al-Ghurairy headed the delegation of the Republic of Iraq to participate in the meetings of the Iraqi-Syrian joint committee for the eleventh session, which is being held in the Syrian capital, Damascus," included a statement by the Ministry of Trade, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

He stressed, "the Iraqi government's keenness to strengthen economic and trade relations with Syria and increase the volume of trade exchange in a way that achieves common interests," noting that "the meetings of the Iraqi committee deal with discussing cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, agriculture, investment and education, as well as discussing consensus about a set of memorandums of understanding."
