Iraqi Ministry of Transportation sets the start date for implementing the Development Road Project, noting that the project will pass through nine governorates, the last of which is Nineveh.
The Director of Relations and Media at the Ministry, Maitham Al-Safi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The government is serious about implementing the Development Road Project, as it is one of the important projects of the ministry," indicating that "an Italian consulting company has submitted a feasibility study for the project, and the next stage is implementation.”
He added that "60 km of the land transport project between the ports of Faw and Umm Qasr have been completed," noting that "the implementation phase of the development road project will be the advent of the new year."
He stated that "the Prime Minister's visit to Turkey included holding meetings with the Turkish side regarding the project, and a joint committee was formed," pointing out that "the construction of railways on the road to development will be according to the applicable European system by installing an advanced camera system."
