The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, explained on Tuesday the most prominent measures taken to fortify the borders, indicating that they were strengthened with troops of armored brigades.

"The borders are largely secured and fortified. There are border forces on the zero line that connects us with neighboring Syria, supported by weapons and technical efforts represented by thermal cameras and fortified watchtowers," said Rasool to the Iraqi News Agency - INA, indicating that "sectors of the army and the Popular Mobilization Forces are behind the border forces to support them and carry out their duties in setting up ambushes and monitoring the area."

He added, "There is no fear for the Iraqi borders, as they are secured, fortified, and our heroes are deployed along them," noting that "the borders have been strengthened with sectors of armored brigades, which are also present at the borders."

"The intelligence units work extensively to monitor what is happening inside Syrian territory, analyze and monitor information, in addition to providing a detailed report to the military command on what is happening inside Syrian territory. Our borders are heavily fortified, whether by the trench, barbed wire, earthen berm, or even the concrete wall on the border," he highlighted.

He stated that "there is close monitoring and guidance from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces regarding the presence of commanders in the field, as their presence gives motivation to the fighters," explaining that "the morale of our security forces is high and great."

The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief denied what is being circulated in the media about the Popular Mobilization Forces entering Syrian territory.
