Minister of Immigration: PM allocated 50 billion dinars for the reconstruction of Sinjar

     Minister of Migration and Displacement, Evan Faiq Gabro, confirmed on Thursday, that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani has allocated 50 billion dinars for the reconstruction of Sinjar, while noting that the return of the displaced from northern Iraq is an issue linked to the Kurdistan region and the rehabilitation of Sinjar.

    Gabro said, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "More than 40,000 displaced people are present in camps in northern Iraq," noting that "the rest of the provinces do not have camps except for the Psychological Rehabilitation Center in the city of Mosul, which is a transitional stage for any displaced person who returns from Al-Hol camp is being rehabilitated at the center in preparation for its return to its original area."

    The statement explained, "The ministry is not concerned with the camps of the Kurdistan region as an administration, but it is a supportive body, as it provides them with  Relief Items and aid," noting that "the decision to return the displaced in northern Iraq is a matter for the Kurdistan region and is also linked to the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Sinjar."

    It pointed out, "The camps for the displaced in Bzeibiz are random and are the results of past policies, as the ministry was surprised by the presence of displaced families, while the rest of the camps are all in northern Iraq."

    The statement added, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani has allocated 50 billion dinars for the reconstruction of Sinjar, which is the first step for the return of the displaced."
