Migration reveals the total number of the remaining IDPs

    The Ministry of Displacement and Migration, confirmed on Thursday, near the closure of the camp in the Nineveh, as revealed the number of displaced persons who did not return to their homes so far and the areas of their presence.  

    The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, Karim Nouri, told Iraqi News Agency (INA) followed it up, that "there remains of the displacement camps outside the Kurdistan region except Al-Jada camp in Nineveh, and we will soon announce its closure, and in the region there are 26 camps, 16 of which are in Dohuk and 6 in Erbil." and 4 in Sulaymaniyah. 

    He added, "The total number of displaced people who have not yet returned to their homes is 37,000 families, most of them from Nineveh and Salah al-Din, including 27,000 families from Sinjar district and the surrounding areas of Nineveh.". 

    He warned of "the existence of parties that are living on the political and economic crisis of the displaced," stressing that "the displaced are suffering and must return to their homes, and the logistical problems that hinder their return to their cities are being ended, and we will not tolerate those who obstruct this.". 

    He stressed that "the Ministry of Immigration applies the principle of voluntary return, and 51 camps have been closed, in implementation of the program of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi's government.". 

    He pointed out that "the governors of Kurdistan are cooperating with us, and there must be cooperation and unconvincing excuses from the concerned parties stop," noting that "most of the displaced people in the region want to return to their homes.". 

    Last Saturday, the Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced the closure of all camps for the displaced in the governorates, except for Kurdistan, while explaining the reason for the delay in preparing the Sinjar district to return its displaced. 

    Immigration Minister Evan Faeq Jabro told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the ministry has closed all camps for the displaced in all provinces, except in the Kurdistan region," noting that "during this month, the last displacement camp in Mosul, which is Al-Jada'a camp, will be closed."
