Al-Maliki: Iraq is moving rapidly towards political and security stability

The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, confirmed today, Thursday, that Iraq is moving rapidly towards political, security and stability, and has the will to complete the construction process.

The media office of the head of the State of Law coalition stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Maliki received in his office, today, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq, Elbrus Kotrashev, and at the outset of the meeting, Ambassador Kotrashev congratulated Al-Maliki and the Iraqi people on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan." The general situation in the country was also discussed, as well as the regional and international situation.

Al-Maliki stressed, according to the statement, "Iraq's pride in the close relationship with Russia and its aspiration to strengthen it in the political, economic, security and cultural fields."
He added, "Iraq is moving rapidly towards political, security and stability and has a will to complete the construction and reconstruction process, especially after a government was formed that enjoys the support of all.".

For his part, the Russian ambassador affirmed his country's keenness to support Iraq to overcome crises and face challenges to achieve development and stability.
