CMC: We are ready to host events related to climate change

    The head of the Communication and Media Commission CMC, Ali Al-Moayyed, called Thursday for the importance of finding advanced media strategies capable of addressing issues of concern to Arab countries, while stressing Iraq's readiness to host media events related to the threat of climate change.

     A statement of the Commission , received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the head of CMC, Ali Al-Moayyed, stressed during his speech at the meeting of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers in Kuwait - the importance of the Arab media strategy commensurate with the great professionalism that the media industry is witnessing, which is now using advanced technologies are not limited to influencing public opinion, but also directing it.

     He called for "introducing the digital media literacy curriculum within the various curricula in the Arab countries, which will contribute to building a generation capable of facing the challenges posed by modern digital developments."

      The head of the Commission affirmed "Iraq's readiness to host media events and cultural activities to raise awareness of the danger of climate change and its disastrous effects."

     Al-Moayad praised "the efforts made by the expert group concerned with confronting the phenomenon of terrorism, and the Permanent Committee for Arab Media in its current session, which discussed items that resulted in important recommendations."

     He referred to "the influence of Arab media marketing in its distinguished coverage of the 25th Arabian Gulf Championship in Basra, which had a great impact on the success of the tournament and changing the stereotype about Iraq and its people, as the media's ability to shape opinion and influence all societies emerged."
