Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani returned on Sunday, to Baghdad, after concluding his official visit to Egypt.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani returned today, Sunday, to Baghdad, after concluding his official visit to Egypt."
Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani affirmed on Sunday, Iraq's desire to activate the joint committees with Egypt, while his Egyptian counterpart, Mustafa Madbouly, indicated the importance of work and bilateral cooperation between the two countries to face the effects of various crises and challenges."
The media office of Prime Minister said, in a statement received by Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, and the Prime Minister of Egypt, Mustafa Madbouly, chaired today, Sunday, the official talks that were held between the delegations of the two countries, within the framework of His Excellency's official visit to the capital, Cairo, which he arrived this morning."
During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed "the fraternal relations that bind the peoples of the two brotherly countries, and the development of the path of joint cooperation, at various levels and fields," expressing his pleasure "to respond to the invitation and to have a constructive meeting with the Egyptian side."
The statement stressed "Iraq's desire to work on developing relations, raising the level of trade exchange, and activating joint committees between the two countries to the level of implementation."
For his part, Egyptian Prime Minister stressed "the importance of work and bilateral cooperation between the two countries to face the effects of the various crises and challenges that the world is witnessing," pointing to "the desire of the Egyptian government to take serious executive steps and tangible action regarding cooperation between the two countries, by signing memorandums of understanding in the fields of economy and trade."
According to the statement, the Iraqi side expressed openness towards strengthening bilateral cooperation frameworks with Egypt, and studying the signing of a number of joint agreements during the work of the Joint Higher Committee, to be held during the coming month of May or June."
