INSS arrests two arms dealers in Baghdad

    Iraqi National Security Service-INSS announced on Friday, the arrest of two arms dealers in Baghdad.
     
    “in accordance with the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to follow up on the arms trade and smuggling file in the country, the detachments of INSS intensified their intelligence and field efforts, after receiving accurate information indicating the whereabouts of a group of arms dealers within the northern Baghdad sector", INSS said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    The statement added, "A force from the INSS, according to judicial orders, set up an ambush that led to a clash and an exchange of fire, which led to the injury of one of the officers and one of the accused, followed by the arrest of two dealers, who were in possession of quantities of weapons and M4 riffle."
     
    The statement continued, "They arrestees and the seized items were referred to the competent legal authorities to take the necessary measures against them in accordance with the law."
