Iraqi Ministry of Transport confirmed that the earthquake that rattled Antakya, south-central Turkey today's Monday, was felt by citizens in the Kurdistan region and some other provinces.
"Our seismic observatories in the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded an earthquake at 08:4:29 this evening, local time, in the Antakya region, south-central Turkey," according to the ministry statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
It was felt by citizens in the cities of the Kurdistan region and some provinces, "we will keep you updated in the event of any further developments," added the statement.
The General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring, according to the statement, called on "citizens to take caution, avoid rumors and false news and adhere to the seismic commandments issued by the authority."
