The General Secretariat of the Cabinet announced Thursday the dispatch of two planes of relief, food and medicine aid to the earthquake victims in Turkey today.
"Two planes loaded with relief, food, medicine and health materials will depart today for Turkey, for the relief of the earthquake victims," Haider Majeed, a spokesman for the Secretariat , told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added, "This came based on the directives of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, and included air and land shipments destined for Syria and Turkey."
It’s mentioned that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani directed today the continuation of the airbridge to transport relief materials to Syria and Turkey.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that, "Under the direction of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, the airbridge continues to transport relief aid, humanitarian and medical aid, emergency needs, and civil defense teams, to the earthquake victims in both Syria and Turkey.”
It added, "This came as an affirmation of the solidarity of the Iraqi people and government with the Syrian and Turkish peoples, and as a contribution to mitigating the effects of the humanitarian catastrophe."
