Kurdistan Regional Government - KRG announced three days off due to earthquakes precautions.
“It was decided to suspend official working hours on the 7th, 8th and 9th of February in all the region's institutions, schools, institutes, and governmental and non-governmental universities," said KRG spokesman Jutiar Adel in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He added, "The ministries of health and interior are excluded from the suspension decision, with the aim of providing services to citizens," noting that "this came to protect the lives of citizens."
"The process of distributing salaries to the employees of the region will continue during these days," he included.
It is noteworthy that the provinces of the Kurdistan region were exposed today to aftershocks, following the devastating earthquake that struck areas in Turkey and Syria.
