The President of the International Swimming Federation FINA, Hussein Al-Musallam, arrived on Sunday at Baghdad airport on a visit to support the Iraqi Water Sports Federation.
He was received by the President of the Iraqi Water Sports Federation, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Youth and Sports Affairs Khaled Kabian.
Al-Musallam told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the FINA seeks to spread a discourse to introduce communities to swimming and other water sports," noting that "swimming is completely different from other sports as it is related to human health and is part of the recovery process for players and treatment for some injuries in addition to the recreational aspect."
Al-Musallam continued: "I congratulate the Iraqi Water Sports Federation for the success of the electoral conference, the development of the game, the advancement of players, refining their talents and preparing them well for the upcoming international tournaments."
