The office of the Prime Minister, Muhammad S. Al-Sudani, announced today, Thursday, the signing of two memorandums of understanding for heritage and Sinjar between Iraq and France.
The office stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Sudani met, this evening, the Prime Minister of France, Elizabeth Bourne, at the Prime Minister's headquarters, during his one-day official visit to France."
The statement added, "The meeting witnessed discussions on consolidating bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, by developing mutual cooperation in the fields of energy, oil and associated gas investment, as well as enhancing cooperation in the fields of transport and culture and in the field of protecting and preserving antiquities."
He continued, "The meeting was attended by the ministers of foreign affairs, oil, industry, minerals and culture, in addition to the head of the Integrity Commission and the Mayor of Baghdad."
The statement stated, "After the meeting, a ceremony for signing a memorandum of understanding, a declaration of intent regarding heritage, took place between Iraq and France.
The memorandum was signed on the Iraqi side by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, while on the French side it was signed by the French Minister of Energy Transition."
He continued by saying, "A memorandum of intent declaration related to Sinjar Hospital was also signed, as it was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs on behalf of Iraq, and on the French side by the French Minister of Energy Transition."
