Education Minister affirms Iraq's keenness to enhance joint scientific understanding with India

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) Naeem Al-Aboudi affirmed on Monday, Iraq’s keenness to enhance joint scientific understanding with India.

A statement by MOHESR, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated, "The Minister of MOHESR, Naeem Al-Aboudi, received the Indian Ambassador to Baghdad, Prashant Pise and they discussed scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries."

The Minister of MOHESR affirmed, "The ministry and its universities are keen to enhance joint scientific understanding with the ancient Indian university institutions that have a global presence in international forums."

He pointed to "the importance of developing scientific cooperation mechanisms in accordance with bilateral understandings between the two sides, especially with regard to twinning programs between universities, joint supervision and mutual scholarships."

For his part, the ambassador praised the development proposals for bilateral cooperation and the strategy in light of which the MOHESR operates, stressing his country and its university institutions' keenness on cultural exchange and updating scholarship programs offered to Iraqi students.
