Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MOFA) condemned on Sunday, the Swedish authorities for allowing an extremist to burn a copy of Holy Quran.
A statement of MOFA, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that " MOFA expresses the strong condemnation and denunciation of Iraq, for the Swedish authorities allowing an extremist to burn a copy of Holy Quran in front of the Embassy of Turkey in Stockholm," stressing that "these events would fuel feelings of Muslims around the world and constitute a serious provocation for them."
According to the statement, the ministry called on "the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop such unacceptable acts, to reject all forms of hatred and extremism, and to hold the perpetrators accountable."
