The Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Yarallah, arrived Sunday in Samarra and he issued directives for the controlling forces.
The Iraqi News Agency (INA) reporter said: "The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abd al-Amir Yarallah, arrived in Samarra," noting that "Yarallah inspected the Samarra Operations Sector and was informed of the latest preemptive operations and the preparations of the joint security forces to pursue the remnants of terrorism."
Yarallah stressed "the need to take precautions and focus on vulnerable areas and not give any opportunity to terrorists to disturb security and stability in the holy city of Samarra."
The Army Chief of Staff praised "the level of security work carried out by the security forces and their success in thwarting the terrorists' plans."
