President Abdel Latif Rashid affirmed today, Friday, that the government is serious about implementing its ministerial program.
The Presidency of the Republic stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid, received at his residence in Davos, the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte."
Rashid stressed, "The election period was long, but the result was good in forming the government, as we benefited from the lengthy dialogues between the political parties that resulted in understandings that led to the formation of the government," noting that "the government is serious about implementing its ministerial program and focusing its efforts on providing health and environmental services, Water, housing, electricity, etc.”
He stressed that "the consolidation of security and stability in the country occupies a priority in our approach, especially since the security situation is better than that of many countries in general."
He continued, "We have visited some Iraqi provinces and witnessed reconstruction in many of them, despite the delay in approving the budget for three years, which hindered the process of starting strategic projects."
He pointed to "the relationship between the regional government and the federal government," stressing that "it is in an increasing improvement and this is in the interest of all of us, and we are currently working seriously to legislate the oil and gas law that will guarantee the rights of all, and to return the displaced to their areas, and to find a radical solution to their tragedy."
"The blame lies with the international organizations that only took pictures and issued statements of sympathy," he stressed.
The president called for "taking advantage of the Dutch experience and expertise," stressing "the importance of continuing cooperation between the two countries."
For his part, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands affirmed "his country's position in support of the Iraqi people by providing expertise in the fields of water and agriculture," praising "the pivotal role of Iraq in consolidating stability and peace in the region."
He referred , according to the statement, to "the numbers of Iraqi refugees in the Netherlands and ways to solve the refugee problem."
