Baghdad and Erbil discuss the file of mines and war projectiles

    The Ministry of Environment and the General Organization for Mine Affairs in the Kurdistan Region agreed today, Monday, to cooperate to end the file of mines and war projectiles.
     
    The Ministry of Environment said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Minister of Environment, Nizar Amidi, received today the head of the Public Institution for Mine Affairs in the Kurdistan Region, Jabbar Mustafa, in the presence of the Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, Kamiran Ali Hassan, and the Director General of the Awareness and Environmental Media Department, Amir Ali Al-Hassoun, and Deputy The head of the institution, Niazi Khaled, and a number of officials affiliated with the institution.
     
    The Minister of Environment stressed "the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Department of Mine Affairs in the Federal Ministry of the Environment and the General Corporation for Mine Affairs in the Kurdistan Region in order to end the file of mines and war projectiles resulting from previous wars, in addition to some provinces and cities of the region that were effects of wars against the terrorist gangs of ISIS." "The government is seeking to clean up all the areas affected by these wars in order for the residents of the liberated cities to return to their homes," he added.
