The head of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Dirjal, stressed on Saturday, that Iraq's success in hosting the Arabian Gulf Cup 25 confirms its ability to host major tournaments, noting that the International and Asian Federations are supporters of Iraq.
"Gulf 25 has achieved remarkable organizational and logistical success for Iraq, and it is able to host other, larger tournaments and prepare for them better, and it needs to complete its requirements of additional logistical matters in order to be ready,” said Dirjal to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He added, "The presidents of the two International Football Associations (FIFA) Gianni Infantino and the Asian Confederation, Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, are highly supportive of Iraq, as well as the support of the Gulf Federation and the federations of the Gulf countries. This support is not recent and was reinforced by the 25th Gulf Championship."
