Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, on Saturday, received the Head of the Gulf Sport Media Association - GSMA Salem Al-Habsi, On the sidelines of the organization of the Gulf Championship (25) in Basra and the launch of the accompanying cultural, youth and media events, as Al-Mubarqa expressed his appreciation to Al-Habsi and the rest of his colleagues for their positive role in the success of the tournament.
The media office of the Ministry of Youth and Sports said in a statement , received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The meeting touched on a number of files related to institutional sports media and how to activate it in a way that contributes and positively affects the event in a manner commensurate with the size of the expected tasks and responsibilities in light of the Iraqi-Gulf joy and the great results it has produced so far in terms of the honorable stances of the Gulf and Iraqi media.”
The statement quoted Al-Habsi, "His admiration for the impressive success achieved by the Basra Championship, especially the opening ceremony, describing it as fascinating one, stressing that he had not seen similar ones throughout the previous Gulf championships since the past three decades."
Al-Habsi presented the shield of the Gulf Sport Media Association to the Minister of Youth and Sports, thanking him for the warm meeting and the opportunity to discuss important issues between Iraq and its brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council in general and Oman in particular, as well as widen the horizon of Sports media cooperation between the two countries, and ways to develop them in various fields, the statement continued.
