The head of the Security Committee for the 25th Gulf Cup, Ghaleb Al-Zamili, confirmed that preparations are continuing with regard to the security aspect for the start of the Gulf Cup competitions, which will be hosted by Basra next Friday.
Al-Zamili told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Wednesday, that "the preparations for this championship are clear and continuous, especially in the security aspect, as a joint meeting was held with the Basra Operations Command, the Joint Operations Commander, the Police Commander, and the rest of the other security services responsible for the security of stadiums, in the presence The Iraqi Football Association, which are joint committees with the Gulf committees, and resulted in high-level cooperation, in addition to the arrival of the participating teams in the tournament.
Al-Zamili added, "These preparations have been fully completed, in addition to the existing coordinating committees that are working up to the moment and continuously to show this tournament in a decent manner and in a manner befitting the reputation of Iraq and the reputation of Basra," pointing out that "there is great cooperation by the governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, in addition to the constant presence of the minister Youth and Sports Ahmed Al-Mubarqa and his follow-up to all preparations for the championship.
Al-Zamili continued, "Efforts are continuing to make this historic event a success, which is a message to the world and to the Gulf states that Iraq is capable of hosting championships and embracing brothers, and that Iraq is secure and prosperous with the efforts of its brave people ."
