Iraq is important to the region, according to Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, who also pointed out that the Zionist entity is trying to spread the conflict.

"The Arab League has decided to support the Iraqi position and reject Zionist threats," Hussein told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), adding that "Iraq's role in the region is pivotal."

"The Iraqi Foreign Ministry has presented proposals from the beginning of the danger of expanding the war," he continued, adding that "the pivotal role of the Foreign Ministry and the Iraqi government is related to clear and full support for the Palestinian cause and the Lebanese people."

He added that "the Foreign Ministry was indicating that there is a certain policy in Tel Aviv to expand the scope of the war and this happened, as the war moved from Gaza to Lebanon and now with attempts to transfer it to other places."

He stressed that "the Foreign Ministry is working with the surrounding Arab and Islamic countries, to stop these threats and expand the scope of war."
