The Border Ports Authority announced on Monday, the arrest of a traveler in possession of narcotic pills at the Shalamcheh port.
A statement of the authority, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that, "Under the direction of the head of the Border Crossings Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, to follow up the drug file through tight control and careful inspection of travelers and goods, an Iraqi traveler was arrested with a joint duty by the customs police detachment and its employees Al-Shalamjah border crossing in the passenger inspection hall (arrival), indicating, "It was seized in possession of various types of narcotic pills."
The statment added, "The accused was referred with the seized items to the Shalamcheh Customs Police Station to take the appropriate legal measures against him."
