The Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced, today, Thursday, the reception of (126) Iraqis returning from the Syrian-Turkish border.
The ministry quoted the Director General of the Department of Immigration Affairs and Head of the Committee for Receiving Iraqis Returning from the Turkish-Syrian Border Strip, Safaa Hussein Ahmed, as saying in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Under the direction of the Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Evan Faeq Jabro, the ministry received (126) Iraqi citizens returning from the areas of (Tal Abyad, Ras al-Ain, Idlib and Azaz) on the Syrian-Turkish border, to the homeland.
" Ahmed added, "This return came within the ministry's plan to encourage Iraqis present in neighboring countries and abroad to return voluntarily through the Ibrahim al-Khalil crossing in Zakho," noting that "another batch will also return to the homeland within the next two days."
Ahmed continued, "The process of returning citizens was carried out through joint coordination between the ministry's office in Ankara, the Iraqi embassy in Turkey, the Iraqi consulate in the city of Gaziantep, the Iraqi Ministry of Transport and the ministry's branch in Dohuk Governorate," indicating that "the citizens will return to their original areas in the governorates of Nineveh, Salah al-Din, Anbar and Kirkuk."
