The Baghdad Operations Commander, Lieutenant General Ahmed Salim, confirmed today, Sunday, that all places designated for celebrating Christmas have been secured.
The leadership said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Lieutenant General, Baghdad Operations Commander, participated with Christians on the occasion of Christmas, as the Operations Commander congratulated all of the Christian component, wishing them happy holidays full of goodness, happiness, safety and peace," pointing out that "this Participation comes with the aim of unifying the ranks of our people, motivated by brotherhood and citizenship.”
The operations commander stressed, according to the statement, that "all necessary security measures will be taken to create a safe and stable ambience in all places where celebrations of these holidays will be held."
