Governmental committee formed to address suicides in IDP camps: MOMAD

The Ministry of Migration and Displaced announced on Wednesday the forming a committee to address suicides inside camps for displaced people.
 
The Minister of Migration and Displaced Evan Jabro said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "A committee has been formed to reduce suicide due to the emergence of more than one case inside the camps for the displaced," noting that "the ministry decided to form and head a committee to develop an integrated study to reduce this phenomenon."
 
"The committee was initially limited to categories of displaced women and refugees, but it expanded to include all of Iraq with regard to the suicide file, specifically women," she said.

She stressed that "there are great efforts from the Department of Women's Empowerment to prepare a study on suicides through electronic extortion," explaining that "there is a membership of the Ministry of Interior to know the statistics of suicides among women."
