Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani announced on Monday, that the Forum of Ancient Civilizations includes agreements to preserve antiquities and recover stolen ones, while indicating that the United Kingdom will soon return antiquities borrowed for the purpose of study.
"The Forum of Ancient Civilizations in Baghdad is important for the leading countries in the depth of civilization. These countries have great civilizations, and the importance of this conference is not only for the history of ancient countries, but rather we look forward to concluding agreements aimed at preserving the antiquities and recover the stolen," said Al-Badrani to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He highlighted that, "large quantities of stolen antiquities have been recovered. There are other groups of antiquities that will be recovered soon, and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities is interested in that."
"There is a tendency to recover some antiquities from the United Kingdom soon, which were borrowed for the purpose of study. Political understandings have a major role in restoring antiquities," he included.
