Prime Minister-designate, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, received on Wednesday, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Iraq, Montaser Al-Zoubi.
"During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, several issues of shared interest, and ways to enhance cooperation at various levels," The Media Office of the Prime Minister-designate said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Sudani stressed the depth of the historical relations that unite the two brotherly countries and the keenness of the new government to continue cooperation and partnership with Jordan in various fields, especially with regard to strategic projects.
He also emphasized the importance of Iraq playing its genuine role among its Arab brothers and friends in the region to enhance security and stability.
For his part, the Jordanian Ambassador expressed congratulations to Al-Sudani on the occasion of his assignment to lead the next government and conveyed the greetings King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein and the Jordanian government's willingness to continue the efforts of bilateral cooperation and development, confirming the depth of brotherly relations between Iraq and Jordan.
