Parliamentary delegation headed by Deputy Speaker of Parliament arrives in the Republic of Rwanda

    A delegation from the parliament headed by, Deputy Speaker of Parliament   Shakhwan Abdullah, arrived on Monday in the Republic of Rwanda to participate in the meetings of the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Governing Council.

    A statement by the Media Office of the Republic of Rwanda, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "a delegation from the parliament headed by Shakhwan Abdullah arrived in the Republic of Rwanda to participate in the 145th General Assembly meetings of the 210th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Governing Council, which is held in the capital, Kigali."

    The statement added, "The delegation included MPs Arshad Al-Salihi, Wehdat Al-Jumaili, Mudar Al-Karawi, Siham Al-Moussawi, Adnan Al-Jabri, Najwa Kaki, and Deputy Secretary-General of the parliament, Sadiq Juma Hamid."

    Abdullah stressed, according to the statement, that "files of a high level of importance will be presented and discussed, including: stimulating parliamentary action to advance the local and regional development of countries and supporting and strengthening democracy."

    It continued, "Peaceful solutions to conflicts will be discussed, as well as the delegation's participation in the meetings of the executive and permanent committees and subcommittees concerned with transparency, accountability and openness."
