Interior Minister Othman al-Ghanmi and Deputy Commander of Joint Operations General Abdul Amir al-Shammari announced on Sunday the success of the security plan to commemorate the death of the Prophet Muhammad.
A statement by the Joint Operations Command JOC received by the Iraqi News Agency INA said that "Al-Ghanmi and Al-Shammari, announced the success of the security plan for the commemoration of the death of Prophet Muhammad."
The deputy commander of joint operations stressed that "the security forces have secured pilgrims," noting that "the intelligence effort is excellent and there is no security breach."
