The Joint Operations Command JOC announced on Wednesday the arrival of Interior Minister Othman al-Ghanmi and Deputy Commander of Joint Operations General Abdul Amir al-Shammari in Najaf province.
A statement by JOC received by the Iraqi News Agency INA said that "Interior Minister Othman al-Ghanmi and Deputy Commander of Joint Operations General Abdul Amir al-Shammari arrived today in Najaf province."
The statement added that "this came to overview the plan of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, inspect the security, oversee the implementation of the security plan for the pilgrimage, and reconnaissance and secure all requirements."
Al-Shammari confirmed according to the statement that "all the requirements for the pilgrimage were secured including strengthening of military forces and an intelligence effort."
