The Ministry of Interior-MOI announced on Sunday that the 911 center is capable of handling calls in five languages. The center operates around the clock and ensures a quick response.

During a press conference attended by an Iraqi News Agency (INA) reporter, Ministry spokesperson, Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, emphasized that “the 911 center is a pioneering initiative within the Ministry of Interior, marking a transformative step in the field of security.”
He further highlighted that “the center will significantly enhance security operations, providing timely and efficient services to the Iraqi public.”

Brigadier General Miri also acknowledged the pivotal role played by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani, who officially inaugurated the center, alongside Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari, whose leadership was instrumental in the realization of this project.
He revealed that “the first official call received by the center was placed by Prime Minister al-Sudani.”

Miri detailed that “Prime Minister al-Sudani has ensured the provision of all necessary resources for the center’s operations, while Interior Minister al-Shammari has closely supervised every phase, from the construction of the facility to its formal launch.”
He added that “the center is operational without interruption, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

The spokesperson further noted that “all previous emergency hotline numbers have been consolidated under a single, streamlined number—911,” and that the center can handle up to 100 calls concurrently across Iraq’s provinces. He also emphasized that the service is entirely free of charge for the public.

Additionally, Miri announced that the center supports calls in five languages—English, Persian, Kurdish, Turkish, and Arabic—and disclosed that a new app, “Ayn Iraq-the eye of Iraq,” will soon be launched. This app will offer a range of services, including medical advice, health tips, scientific guidance, and additional functionalities.

Brigadier General Raed Abdul Karim, Director of the Rapid Response and Control Department, confirmed that “all personnel at the center have undergone comprehensive training.”
He reiterated that “the 911 number is exclusively the property of the Ministry of Interior.”

Finally, he urged the public, stressing that “the 911 number must not be misused.”
