Three key decisions resulted from Asian Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Baghdad, including sustainable development

    The head of the Standing Political Affairs Committee of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, confirmed on Sunday that the meeting with the Iraqi Parliament resulted in three important decisions, including one on sustainable development. He also noted that the Assembly emphasized its support for the Palestinian people in Gaza.
     
    Al-Kinani told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “The Parliament held a two-day session for the standing Political Affairs Committee of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, during which several decisions were discussed and put to a vote.”
     
    He added that “among the key decisions was supporting the work of parliaments and activating their role in achieving sustainable development, as well as promoting public participation.”
     He also mentioned that “a Palestine Committee meeting was held alongside the conference, issuing recommendations that support the Palestinian people in Gaza and call for condemnation of the occupying entity and its brutal attacks.”
     
    The standing Political Affairs Committee of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly began its work in Baghdad on Saturday, with representatives from 14 countries in attendance.
