Commission of Integrity: An arrest warrant issued against a former deputy minister

    The Federal Integrity Commission announced on Monday, the issuance of an arrest warrant against a former deputy minister for blackmailing and bargaining with the director of one of the private companies.

    The investigations department of the Commission stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The second Karkh investigation court issued an arrest warrant against the (former) Deputy Minister of Electricity, for blackmailing and bargaining with the director of one of the private companies." 


    The statement explained that "the arrest warrant issued by the court came based on the provisions of Article (Second of Resolution 160 of 1983) for his requesting a sum of money in return for awarding one of the tenders announced in the Ministry of Electricity to his company."
