Iraqi Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi assured on Saturday, the Pakistani counterpart, Rana Thanaullah Khan that the Iraqi government is determined to provide a safe and appropriate atmosphere for all visitors.
Al-Ghanimi received a phone call from his Pakistani counterpart as they discussed the process of grouping visitors from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the holy city of Karbala in addition to ways of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, according to a statement by the Ministry of Interior, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
"The ministries, institutions and departments of the Iraqi state are fully mobilized to provide the best services to visitors from inside and outside the country who intend to commemorate the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him," Al-Ghanimi stressed, noting that "there is great cooperation between the competent authorities and visitors to make this immortal occasion a success."
He indicated, "The Iraqi government is determined to provide a safe and appropriate atmosphere for all visitors, including visitors to the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with which we have strong and close historical ties."
