Iraqi political parties to adopt dialogue, avoid escalation, says the Arab Parliament

Arab Parliament called on Monday, on all political parties in Iraq to put the national interest as a priority, stop escalation and sit at the dialogue table.

"All Iraqi political parties and forces must adopt restraint, prevent escalation, priorities Iraq's national interest, and stop violence in order to spare Iraqi blood," the Arab Parliament highlighted in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The statement included, "Constructive dialogue and maintaining the peaceful path of the political process in accordance with the Iraqi constitution is the right way to preserve the Republic of Iraq and its honorable people."

The Arab Parliament stressed “the importance of restoring calm in the Iraqi arena and for all parties to sit at a dialogue table to bear national responsibility in light of the critical circumstances that Iraq is undergoing, to come up with a solution that puts the interest of the Iraqi people above any consideration and away from any narrow interests,” noting that “the security and stability of Iraq is an integral part of the security and stability of the region."
