Arab Parliament affirms its full support for the security and stability in Iraq

The Arab parliament confirmed, on Thursday, its full support for the security and stability of Iraq 's internal unity, While noting that the return of Iraq under the Arab's roof represents a great strategic importance to the system of joint Arab action.

The Media Office of the Arab Parliament stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Assoumi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, was received at the head of a delegation from the Arab Parliament, which included members of the Arab Parliament's Office, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament and his accompanying delegation, In Cairo".

The statement added, "The meeting witnessed extensive discussions between the two sides on developments in the situation in the Republic of Iraq, ways to enhance cooperation between the Arab Parliament and the Iraqi Council of Representatives, and developments in the Arab region.".

Al-Assoumi affirmed, “The Arab Parliament’s full support for the security and stability of Iraq and its internal unity,” stressing that “Iraq represents a key country in the Arab region and in the regional system as a whole, and that its return to the Arab incubator represents a great strategic importance to the joint Arab action system, and a qualitative addition to maintain Arab national security.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament reiterated the "steadfast positions of the Arab Parliament regarding support for the sovereignty of the Iraqi state over its entire territory, and its total rejection of any regional or external interference in its internal affairs under any claims," praising "the great efforts made by the Republic of Iraq in the war on terrorism and imposing Security and stability throughout the Iraqi state.

For his part, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi expressed his great appreciation for the role of the Arab Parliament in supporting Iraq at all levels, stressing that, under its current presidency, the Arab Parliament is making estimated and unprecedented efforts in supporting all Arab issues, not just Iraq.
