The British authorities announced that a large part of England was in a state of drought, while calling for rationalizing water consumption.
The British government said, "The state of drought has pervaded a large part of England, which has witnessed since the beginning of the year the driest season in nearly half a century.
This announcement, which would impose decisions and restrictions on water consumption, is the first of its kind since 2018.

The Environment Agency said in a statement that "the water supply is guaranteed" and called on the authorities and water companies to "continue their preventive planning in order to protect essential supplies in the event of a dry autumn."
"We call on everyone to act according to the amount of water available during this exceptionally dry period," said Environment Agency Executive Director Harvey Bradshaw
