US President Joe Biden on Tuesday approved the accession of Sweden and Finland to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Biden said in his speech, "NATO has demonstrated that commitment to a Europe that is complete, free and living in peace is possible," noting that "the strength of NATO and the commitment of the United States to the alliance is stronger than before."
He added, "All NATO countries are committed to the fifth article of the alliance's charter, and its doors are open to all countries that meet the conditions to join it."
"We work with our partners to strengthen the eastern front of NATO, and we will be able to meet the new challenges in Europe," Biden said.
