KDP: We need additional negotiations with PUK to resolve the position of the Presidency of Republic

    The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP ) set on Monday, its conditions for voting on a candidate for the position of prime minister, while stressing the need for additional negotiations with the Patriotic Union  of Kurdistan (PUK) to resolve the file of the presidency.

    The party's deputy, Jayi Timur, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the negotiations with the PUK have not led to a result between the two parties so far, and last week there were two rounds of talks, and the negotiating delegation of the KDP headed by Fouad Hussein went, and met the President of the (KDP) Bafel Talabani, and leaders of the Patriotic Kurdistan.”

    Taymour added, "The Secretary-General of the National Union, two days later, paid a visit to the President of the KDP, Massoud Barzani, and extensive negotiations took place, but there were no reliable outcomes."

    Taymour pointed out that "there are conditions for the Democratic Party, the first of which is consensus and participation, as well as the person who holds the position of prime minister," explaining that "there are conditions for any successful prime minister, which are zeroing problems between the region and the federal government, fighting corruption, presenting the corrupt to the judiciary, and limiting Weapons are in the hands of the security forces, and to ensure that others do not interfere in Iraqi affairs."
