The Karbala Operations Command announced Wednesday, the success of the plan for transporting pilgrims.
Operations Commander Lieutenant-General Ali al-Hashemi said in a press conference held with the provincial police chief, Major General Ahmed Zweini, and attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the plan for transporting pilgrims was successful and distinct from the past years."
He added, "This plan involved the participation of various military units with the support of the army aviation and the Air Force," noting that "the pilgrimage route from Arar port to holy Karbala was open for 24 hours."
Zweini confirmed, "The plan was distinguished in receiving pilgrims," noting that "there is high coordination between the security forces and the holy shrines to receive pilgrims from the governorates and house them in the visiting cities."
