The world's largest food market, Central de Abasto, in Mexico City will be covered with solar panels and become the city's largest solar power plant, Mayor Claudia Scheinbaum said.
“At the first stage of creating the largest solar power plant in the city, we installed 600 panels, it will be located in Central de Abasto,” RIA Novosti quotes Sheinbaum on Twitter.
According to her, the launch of a solar power plant will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 790 tons.
Earlier it became known that after the introduction of the second stage of the Arshan solar power plant (SPP) in Kalmykia, its installed capacity reached 115.6 MW, which allowed it to become the largest power plant of this type in the Unified Energy System (UES) of Russia.
